Life Skills - Day Program

We are a week-day program providing social development, fit and healthy living, community integration, and employment training. Client participation is integral in creating their own program activity schedule. This further supports the ICAN mission. We believe the above gives our clients the opportunity to enjoy meaningful experiences and encourages them to discover more of who they are and what they can do.

 
 

Program Facts

  • Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM
  • We accept full time and part time clients
  • We have a 1:3 staff-to-client ratio
  • Transportation to and from the program is attained through the Regional Center
  • We are vendored by Harbor Regional Center and Westside Regional Center

  • All potential clients must request a referral prior to completing the ICAN interview and intake packet.

 

Client Choice

Client participation in creating their own program schedule is an integral part of our Day Program. Our desire is for our clients to create and achieve their own "I CAN" statements. Below is a list of many of the clubs we offer. Please note this list changes because clubs are changed seasonally due to client interest. 

Cooking, Fitness,  Book, Technology, Spanish, Sign Language, Music, Art, Improv, Community, Career, Game, Explorer, Photography, Etsy, Garden, Budget, Wire Working, TV News, Drama, Hiking, Interview Skills, Disaster Preparedness, and more.

 

Program Parameters

Our program maintains a balance of on-site programming and off-site community integration. Therefore, clients desiring to apply should note the following requirements. We are able to serve clients with varied types of disabilities and multiple diagnosis. Clients must have the ability to obey and follow directions, communicate their wants and needs, have bowel and bladder control, no violent tendencies, and a desire to develop life and work skills. We accept both ambulatory and non-ambulatory clients.

 

All potential clients must attain applicable regional center approval prior to completing the ICAN interview and intake packet. This is in compliance with our licensing and accreditation.
