Giancarlo came to ICAN with a passion for working with food, and as a result, we helped him get a job in a local market that is famous for its empanadas, meats, imported Central and South American foods, and homemade salsas.Read More
On February 14th, Jen helped run the ICAN photo booth for her first time. Jen was accompanied by Lindsey Stone, who picked her up shortly after Day Program ended. They ate dinner together in downtown LA on their way to the event.Read More
“A whole new world” of theater was opened for the ICAN social program last month. Broadway made its way to LA with their Aladdin show and a large group of clients and volunteers headed to the Pantages theater.Read More
The past six years, ICAN has grown from a newly formed 501c3 non-profit, to year round organization with 70+ employees supporting our various programs. This year we are thrilled to be laying the foundation for our new homebase in Hermosa Beach as well as opening a new Employment site in Long Beach, expanding our services and programs to even more.Read More
This year, Social Program is off to a bright start! Kicking off the year, our first program was the L.A. Zoo lights. Our clients and volunteers headed to the Zoo on January 6th and enjoyed a night filled with lights, animals—even reindeer!—gardens, and an amazing lights and water show. New volunteer Roxanne Riva joined us for the first time and raved at how much fun she had with the group and enjoyed seeing all the clients look out for each other and spend time with one another.Read More

2018 has kicked off to a great start for our Marketplace department and is in full-swing. Since opening our Etsy Lab in 2016, we have tripled in size and have been expanding our products and creativity! Each wreath is methodically thought up and processed. From gathering ideas to buying supplies, choosing a name to constructing, then taking product photos and, finally, uploading on our Etsy site.Read More
The Life Skills Day Program has much to celebrate as we start 2018! We just celebrated our two year anniversary as a program and are now providing this community-based service for about 50 clients and their families. We have also successfully transitioned from our original location in Hermosa Beach to our new temporary site located just a few blocks from the Redondo Beach Pier.
